Last Blog Post!!!

I have enjoyed this class throughout the whole quarter. I liked it because we learned a different way then how all the other English classes i have had. The netbooks were an advantage to the class and helped tremendously. What i liked about the learning plans is that we are able to create them our own way of showing how we learned without having a set rules of exactly what to do. The only trouble i had in the class was focusing on the learning plan and doing the work during class. I am easily distracted by have the internet to look up or go on whatever sit i want. But i always got my learning plan done at the deadline. Thank your Ms. Stutzman for teaching me all about American literature! you are an awesome teacher!! :)

Classwork

Within the class i still have trouble focusing on task and working on the learning plan. But i have improved from the first learning plan till this one. For the third learning plan i was more concentrated and got more work done during class without going off task. I think i worked harder during class because i knew the deadline was shorter and we didn't have as much time as we did with the first learning plan to complete it.

Modernism and Postmodernism Learning Plan

This is our third learning plan that we have completed. By now i feel more comfortable using the learning plan and understanding what i am doing. Things are now easier to work with and i am getting the hang of things. For this Learning plan i felt like i knew what i needed to do to accomplish it in time and score a higher score. From meeting up with the teacher and talking about what i need to improve, it help me reach that goal and do a better job (since i was aware of what i was lacking in). I still have trouble with the artifact, i am not sure what i should do and it is harder to come up with something that is creative that meets all the standards to get a good grade.

Romanticism and Realism

We have just finished our learning plan for Romanticism and Realism. On this unit i decided to focus on the themes and style of writings have from the different category. It was hard at first to figure out what the common theme is between all the writings because you are not absolutely sure if i am correct. I might think one way and another can completely disagree or think in a different way. I had trouble with figuring out what kind of artifact i should do. I want to create something that is creative and fun instead of writing a paper, but i am running out of ideas. So for this unit, i might just end up writing a paper comparing and contrasting the two.

Within the Class

I enjoy using the new technology and having the learning plan there. I am currently struggling with staying on task because i tend to need silence in order to get everything done. But since it isn't silent i do most of my work at home. I am able to get better concentration and focus on what i am doing when it is more quiet. Beside the way i like to work, the class itself is challenging in a good way. It prepares us for college because we have to learn on our own without any help.

Colonial and Enlightenment Literature

Within four weeks of American Lit, we have learned about the Colonial and Enlightenment Literature. Instead of just reading pieces from each time period, the class has created their own learning plan to express what we have learned. The learning plan is a creative way to answer questions and collect information. Within the learning plan, Miss Stutzman can edit and make comments at any time to help us correct our mistakes and give us feedback to our research. The only difficulties my group and I had was finding American literature that answers our essential question. But the IMC resources and links helped us tremendously to find readings.

What I Think of the Class

I think the class is fun. In the class we use Google docs as a different way of learning, which i think is creative and cool. This is the first time I had a class that did everything via computers and technology. When we received the netbook's it helped the class get more things done to our learning plan. Another thing i like about the class is that it is very independent and you can work on your own pace and level.
